Although the activities of counselors (e.g. Masters Degree) overlap with clinical psychotherapists, counselors work mostly with clients who experience normal to mild symptoms. Clinical psychotherapists on the other hand can help individuals experiencing mild to severe distress and symptoms (Trull, 2013).
